About
David Hess, artist
12'x6'x5'
Hand blown glass, steel
David Hess’ sculpture hangs in the lobby of the Cultural Arts Center. The piece is constructed of wrought iron,
1 ½ inches in diameter, that are twisted to form the base of the boat. Round amber blown glass orbs nestle in the center of the pod, which is suspended from the ceiling and moves with the air currents in the space. The artist’s work is intended to be organic and natural, and at the same time be a metaphor for the journey of the performance as perceived by the audience.
